Fact-checking Workshops

We teach how to distinguish truth from lies on the internet in 15 minutes. We show simple tools that allow you to check every photo and political quote. We conduct workshops in groups of up to 8 people so that everyone can practice on their own phone. This is practical knowledge for anyone who feels lost in the flood of information. After the meeting, you will know who to trust and who to avoid at all costs.

Check the news in less time than it takes to brew coffee

An average person receives a dozen pieces of information on their phone every day that have nothing to do with the truth. You sit down with your tea in the morning, see a photo of a politician with a strange caption, and wonder if it's true or if someone is trying to make a fool out of you. At our workshops in Warsaw, we show you how to verify this in 3 specific steps. No fluff and no sitting for hours in front of a screen. We show you how to find the source of information in 11 minutes so that no one feeds you nonsense at a family dinner anymore.

We use free tools that everyone already has in their browser. You don't need a computer science degree or expensive equipment for this. We teach you how to do a reverse image search to check in 34 seconds if a photo from a supposed today's protest doesn't happen to come from an archive from 2012. In March 2024 alone, we trained 47 people from the Mokotów district, and every one of them was able to independently catch manipulation in a government announcement after the classes. That's it for theory – for us, only practice counts.

We meet in small groups, usually 6 or 7 people. This is not a boring school lecture where one smarty-pants talks and the rest look out the window. Everyone takes their smartphone in hand and practices on examples posted online within the last 48 hours. We analyze specific state budget expenditures and election promises that are currently being trumpeted on the radio. (By the way, most of those sensational graphics that people send each other in groups are simple edits made on the fly). The average verification of one fact takes us exactly 3.2 minutes in class.

Frakcja Info has been involved in data analysis since 2019. Our team consists of 4 people who deal with laws and tables from ministries on a daily basis. We have already checked 124 specific political promises and we know where officials most often hide inconvenient facts. To be honest, we are not the cheapest on the market because we dedicate time to each participant individually, but after leaving us, you have peace of mind. You will know why some news portals are worth avoiding and how to recognize paid trolls in comments.

What exactly you will learn in 2 hours:

  • Searching for the original source of any photo on the Internet.
  • Reading asset declarations on official parliamentary websites.
  • Recognizing accounts controlled by automated bots.
  • Checking who really paid for political ads on Facebook.
  • Fast analysis of one selected bill that comes into force within the next 3 months.

After the meeting, you will have 2 simple apps installed on your phone that facilitate daily news reading. You will understand that if a news headline triggers sudden anger in you, it's usually a sign that someone wants to manipulate you. Simply and specifically – you receive an instruction manual for the modern world from us and regain control over what enters your head. Book a spot for the workshop on March 14th at 5:00 PM.
